How to use PLR content in blogs

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Hope you thoroughly read the last blog, there was quite a lot of good info in it!

Blogs are brilliant, they really are, the challenge is that they have been used, abused, and are sitting like a ripped up rag doll on the side of the road… and that’s exactly how Google looks at them… unless you’re smart.

You can do this with www.blogger.com because let’s face it, it’s free, but my preference is with Word Press.

Anyway, the point is, blogs are good, they’re easy, useful, and if done right, can get a good whack of traffic for your adsense or affiliate sites.

What you want to do, is try to use an original template… yes this involves a little more work, and I’ll explain why in the next email, but especially when you are using PLR articles, you’ll want to use an original template for yourself.

You’ll also want to rewrite about 25% at least of the articles… if you’re lazy, then you don’t have to do it, but it’s better if you do.

So you’ve now got yourself an original template in your blog, you’ve rewritten your articles by about 25% (preferably at least the title and the first paragraph)… start the blog with 5 articles and put them up on the site straight away, then one every 1-2 days for the next 14 days, then 1 every 3 days for the next 30 days. By now you should have a good indication of whether the site/niche is going to pay off for you.

You’ll also want to take 5 or so articles that you get, and rewrite them by at least 75% and submit them to the directories (like I said in the last email to you).

Now, you can stop there or you can keep going if you like… it basically comes down to adding more content, building more links, and lo and behold, soon you’ll be getting traffic to your blogs, and then it’s up to you to convert them!

Ok, the next email (in 2 days time) is going to be on the duplicate content myth, and my take on the whole scenario.

The Word Press Wizard Maintenance Service

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

The WordPress Wizard tends to the many details to keep your blog up and running smoothly.

Are you too busy or not quite technically inclined enough to do the regular maintenance necessary to keep your blog up to date and running smoothly beyond normal posting? The Wizard can take care of those details for you. This service combines maintenance, traffic analysis, and backup.

The Wizard Maintenance

This includes keeping tabs on and upgrading to new versions of WordPress. When to do an upgrade? Sometimes it’s difficult to know. The Wizard keeps track of when an upgrade is stable enough to perform. Only then will your blog be upgraded to the newest version of WordPress.

Do you know that your plugins get updates too? New features, security fixes, and bug fixes can pile up until you don’t know what to do when. The Wizard takes care of all of that for you.

Backup Service

Your WordPress database and theme files will be backed up on a weekly basis. Copies of the backup will be e-mailed to you and The Wizard will keep a copy too. If there is any kind of problem, backups will be available. If you want me to restore them, the charge is $120.00 per hour due to complexities and differences in hosting companies. However, you might be able to get your hosting company to do the restore for you.

Traffic Analysis

If you have a tracking service, do you use it? Many people don’t because they forget or don’t have time to delve into it. The Wizard will keep track of your blog statistics for you and e-mail you a monthly analysis in easy to read words. The information you will get includes:

  • Number of unique and returning visitors
  • List of sites linked to you
  • Your mot popular posts
  • Search terms people are using to find you in the search engines
  • Number of Feedburner subscribers and how the are subscribed
  • My suggestions on ways to improve

If you do not already have Google analytics, I will install and set it up for you.

This service is available for self hosted WordPress blogs only - no blogger or wordpress.com blogs.

What’s the charge?

This package has a setup fee of $189.00 (first month backup and analysis report included). After the first month, the normal fee is $67.00 per month - ongoing.

You can cancel at any time and your reports, backups, and Google analytics that you have already received are yours to keep.

Current Client Special

If you are a client of mine - if I installed your blog - there will be no setup fee because your blog is already setup correctly. I might have to set up Google analytics and a few other things, but the setup fee is waived for exisiting client.
